About Lauren Owens
I’m a degree-qualified naturopath with a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy), offering online consultations Australia-wide, and in-person appointments in Lennox Head, NSW.
But my journey into naturopathy wasn’t purely academic. It was deeply personal.
My Health Journey
For many years, I lived the way many of us do – working hard, travelling, pushing through fatigue and assuming my body would simply “keep up.”
In my twenties, I could burn the candle at both ends and still function. Until I couldn’t.
Over time, my health began to unravel. I experienced:
Recurrent tonsillitis
Chronic fatigue
Depression
IBS and persistent gut issues
Acne and peri-oral dermatitis
Chronic pain related to scoliosis and fibromyalgia
I worked in a demanding corporate environment and eventually hit burnout. My back and neck pain became debilitating. Looking back, I can see that my body was asking – in fact, screaming – that I slow down and change direction.
I sought medical help many times, but I wasn’t improving. In fact, I was getting worse. I felt frustrated and defeated.
The Turning Point
When I visited a naturopath for the first time, something shifted.
She asked me to “start at the beginning.”
No rushing me out the door. No hasty prescription. No dismissing my symptoms
For the first time, I felt deeply listened to.
Her approach was thorough, compassionate and empowering. I tried herbal medicine and began to see real improvement, not just in my symptoms, but in how I felt mentally and emotionally.
That experience changed my life.
I realised naturopathy aligned with my body and values. It made sense to me in a way nothing else had. Eventually, I made the decision to become a naturopath myself.
Becoming a Naturopath
I completed my Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) whilst raising my two children and managing chronic pain. It wasn’t easy, but it felt right.
Today, my personal experience informs how I practise. I understand what it’s like to:
Feel dismissed
Feel exhausted & in constant pain
Feel overwhelmed by conflicting health advice
Feel like you’ve “tried everything”
And I understand how powerful it is when someone truly listens and creates a clear path towards improvement.
My Approach to Care
As a mother of two, I understand how challenging it is to prioritise your own health whilst juggling work, family, and life pressures.
Modern life is demanding. We are bombarded with information about diets, supplements and “quick fixes.” It can be overwhelming to know where to begin.
My role is to simplify the process.
When you work with me, we:
Explore the root causes of your symptoms
Connect the dots between body, mind and lifestyle
Create a clear, personalised treatment plan
Use evidence-informed herbal and nutritional medicine
Build sustainable habits that support long-term health
Naturopathy is not about seeking perfection. It’s about restoring balance and supporting the body to heal from within.
Who I Work With
I particularly understand the complexities of:
Chronic pain
Chronic fatigue
Digestive disorders
Stress-related conditions
Hormonal imbalances
- Depression & anxiety
If you feel like you’ve been pushing through for too long, you don’t have to do it alone.
